Firmware Engineer/Analyst

General Requirements:

Utilizes firmware engineering and analysis experience to contribute to the design, analysis, simulation, synthesis, verification, and integration of a large DoD systems. Innovates, collaborates, and teams with software and hardware engineers to provide Verification & Validation for firmware, develop and implement firmware's strategy/environment, review firmware related documentation, review requirements specifications and test procedures, and verify any needed documents are addressed and available in the repository. Collaborates with multidisciplined engineering team to verify, validate, and analyze system architectures, hardware interfaces, system specifications, and overall system firmware designs. Employs the ability to understand device timing diagrams. Exercises excellent written and oral communication skills.


Required

  • ABET accredited BS in Computer Science, Electrical, or Computer Engineering, or related technical degree 
  • Minimum 2 years of task related experience
  • Familiarity with basic Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts
  • Experience with VHDL and/or Verilog
  • Approximately 25% travel
  • Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance

Desired

  • Knowledge of embedded Linux environments
  • Experience with Security Analysis and designing Security Solutions
  • Experience with tools such as Altera, Xilinx, and/or Questa ModelSim/QuestaSim
  • FPGA programming and debug tools experience
  • Experience with Missile Systems

 


Security Requirements:

Applicants must currently hold a DoD security clearance at the secret level. 


Work Environment:

Work is performed primarily in an office or lab environment with adequate environmental (heating/cooling) control.  The noise level in the work environment will be moderate due to noises associated with computer equipment, equipment racks, and environmental control systems.  For some efforts, tactical equipment will be operated outdoors in field conditions to include weather extremes and on tactical generator power. Offsite work is performed primarily at Government locations in climate-controlled facilities but will occasionally require installation, inspection and setup of equipment outdoors.
