General Requirements

The Systems Engineer will work with a diverse team of mechanical, electrical, and systems engineers to plan, execute, and analyze systems for Army airworthiness compliance.


General duties for this position will consist of the 1) evaluating/analyzing systems for installation on military helicopter platforms, 2) developing documentation to substantiate airworthiness, and 3) ensure system development satisfies program requirements.


This position requires the Systems Engineer to evaluate all aspects of system development, as an individual contributor, and in collaboration with other analysts and engineers.  Oral, written, and presentation communication skills are essential. 

Primary Duties:

  • Apply well developed Systems Engineering skills and methodology throughout the life cycle of avionics system development and work with, and assist, our customer in achieving their program objectives.
  • Apply engineering/scientific method to the definition, design, analysis, and reporting of avionics systems.
  • Plan the assessment and verification of systems and systems-of-systems requirements.
  • Support the substantiation and verification of all program requirements and objectives.
  • Perform independent analysis of the avionics system, including physical, performance, and operational characteristics to ensure the system or systems-of-systems satisfy program requirements and airworthiness objectives. Review analysis results from other members of the team, reconcile discrepancies, and organize results for reporting.

Desired qualifications:

Experience with avionics system development and requirements traceability is highly desirable.


Educational Requirements:

A bachelor’s degree from ABET accredited college in Engineering (BSCE or BSEE highly desirable), Computer Science, Physics, or Math is required. This position requires 16-20 years of overall engineering experience with specific previous experience in current US Army helicopter platforms. 


Security Requirements:

Applicants must currently hold (or be able to obtain within reasonable time) a DoD security clearance at the secret level.
